Ádám has been working in cooperation with municipal and civil organisations on the preparation and implementation of EU-funded projects for more than ten years. These enriched his knowledge on many topics: e.g. child care, social care, health care, employment, and the renewal of public areas and institutions. He also uses his financial management experience gained in Hungarian and Interreg-CBC projects during strategic planning for municipalities. He graduated as a geographer specialised in regional and urban development, his professional interests focus on physical and social processes within settlements, as well as energy and environmental sustainability issues.
Lóránt Deme is a senior consultant of Grants Europe. Before joining the team, he worked for a Dutch international consultancy company - gaining experience at all levels of a consultancy organisation from junior consultancy to country manager – and later worked as a freelance consultant. Altogether, he accumulated 30+ years of experience in management consultancy, project development and project management, especially in the following areas: development of urban and business infrastructure; development and management of cultural and natural heritage; developing and supporting innovation and incubation processes; organisation development and training. He holds a BSc degree in Economy (specialised in tourism management) and a diploma in management studies (DMS), obtained in Hungary and the UK respectively.
Endre Feigl is a project assistant for Grants Europe Consulting. Prior to joining the company, Endre worked for a foundation, whose main activity involved the teaching of financial literacy to children of all ages. The main role he undertook within the foundation was enriching the international team, where he established international partnership for the purpose of knowledge exchange and curriculum development. At various stages of his main occupation, he was involved in conducting trainings, development of educational modules based on various interdisciplinary approaches and best practices from the most current educational trends and creating international projects which saw him forming prosperous collaborations from Finland to Malaysia. He oversaw the successful development and implementation of these projects and brings forth an experience of international project development.
He holds a BSc degree in Sociology and an MSc degree in Sociology specializing in International Change and Development, both obtained from universities in Scotland.
Eszter Héjj is managing director and co-head of the international project development unit of Grants Europe. Besides being involved in overall company management, in the past 15 years she has been successfully coordinating the full project cycle process, including project development from the very first ideas up to supporting the implementation of international projects in a variety of funding programmes (INTERREG IVC / Europe, CENTRAL EUROPE, SEE / Danube, URBACT, UIA/EUI, Creative Europe, LIFE, Horizon Europe etc.) for our clients across the EU.
Prior to joining our team, Eszter worked for the Managing Authority of the Regional Development Operational Program and INTERREG Community Initiative in Hungary. In addition to possessing an MA in English, she has also obtained a European Expert postgraduate degree. Eszter is fluent in English, speaks German at an intermediate level and has basic knowledge of French. She is a true team player, professional and goal-oriented, aiming always for the best quality of her results.
Eszter Kostenszky is a co-founder of Grants Europe Consulting, Ltd. With professional expertise in development and financial planning of projects under programmes such as INTERREGs, UIA/EUI, URBACT, Horizon Europe as well as mainstream EU Funding schemes, Eszter is involved both in overall company management and project related consultancy work. Subsequently, she has built up valuable experience in various fields including (social) innovation, environment, energy and urban development.
Eszter’s professional attitude can also be derived from her European academic and professional background. Having acquired her first MA at the Budapest University of Economics with a specialisation on European Integration, she gained a scholarship to follow the prestigious MA course “Advanced European Multidisciplinary Studies” at the College of Europe (Brugge-Warsaw). Her career path leads along several consultancy firms in the Netherlands, Belgium and Hungary, granting Eszter the ability to feel at home in an international business environment. It also adds to her excellent people skills, contributing to the firm’s exceptional relationship with clients from different cultures, aided by her fluency in English and conversational French and Italian language skills.
Szabolcs Kovács graduated as a geographer from ELTE, specialised in regional analysis, and has subsequently gained experience in urban geography in Berlin. His professional interests lie in exploring and evaluating current social and economic processes, as well as analysing spatial and urban development issues on both a broad scale and in local socio-economic context. He’s a key expert in the Hungarian spatial and urban development system and urban funding, and also a qualified logistics manager.
Szabolcs’s main references are related to developing general and sectoral concepts, strategies and programmes at the city level. He has experience preparing urban rehabilitation, touristic and economic development projects, as well as action plans and feasibility studies,and elaborating cost-benefit analyses or cash-flow plans as a coordinator or senior expert. Since 2019, he has also taken over the day-to-day management of Grants Europe.
Twan de Bruijn is one of our key external experts, specialized in EU policies and projects at municipal level. Based in the Netherlands, Twan is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German. Partner since late 2016.
He has extensive experience in EU policy setting and EU Funding Schemes gained through his work as a Policy Advisor for Economic and Spatial Development, Coordinator of Multiannual Integral Programmes, Senior Policy Advisor and as a Head of the Department for International Affairs in the city of Heerlen, The Netherlands.
Twan holds a BA degree in Marketing and a postgraduate degree in Business Economics. In addition to his outstanding managerial and analytical skills, Twan’s network of professionals on both municipality and EU level presents a special added value to our company and a source of knowledge sharing and know-how transfer.
Zsuzsa Kravalik is Grants Europe’s external expert. Her extensive expertise is based on her wide area of experience.
Her professional growth started at the Hungarian Ministry of Social and Family Affairs, and it continued at the Social Exclusion Unit of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in London. She soon moved to the European scene, becoming a Programme Director for a Research Centre based in Budapest focusing on EU funded project management (URBACT). Her time as Key expert in modernisation of social services enabled her to become the Director of the Agora Urban Institute, where she is currently still working.
Zsuzsa is an evaluation expert of EU funded projects under CBC programmes, as well as transnational projects. Her main fields of expertise are health policy and disaster management, heritage management, social sustainability and active inclusion.
Zsuzsa holds a MSc degree in Mathematics from ELTE University. She obtained her MA Degree in Public Administration in Tokyo, Japan and a Msc in Economics. Lastly, she holds a MSc in Social Policy and Planning from LSE, London.
Kasey Golding is one of our external consultants with experience drafting proposals in INTERREG Central Europe, INTERREG Europe, INTERREG Northwest Europe, I3, European Urban Initiative, and Creative Europe.
Kasey is particularly skilled in project development and communication. She has an extensive policy research background and was awarded a US Fulbright Research Grant to Hungary in 2021. Kasey holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Louisville and an MA in European Studies with a focus in European External Relations from KU Leuven. She has also participated in educational opportunities in history and politics at University College London and Oxford University. Kasey is a native English speaker with a basic understanding of Hungarian and Spanish.
Mónika has been working with us as an external consultant since 2015. She has gained outstanding experience in EU funded programmes both as a consultant, supporting different beneficiaries in the preparation of projects, and as a civil servant, working in different positions at the central government.
Mónika built up excellent coordination skills while working at the National Development Agency, where she was responsible for the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms and the EU’s Twinning Programme. In 2014, she was appointed as head of department responsible for European Territorial Cooperation programmes.
As a consultant her key fields of expertise are innovation oriented projects, and the promotion of nature-based solutions.
Mónika earned an MA in International Relations and an MSc in Finance at the Corvinus University of Budapest. Her working languages are Hungarian and English.
Zsolt Séra is one of our external consultants, contributing to our assignments in various programmes. Working as an urban expert for over 23 years, he has accumulated experience in elaborating integrated urban and local economic development and urban rehabilitation projects. In the last decade, he gained experience developing and supporting interregional, transnational and cross-border cooperation projects funded by European Urban Initiative, URBACT, Interreg Europe, Central Europe Programme, Danube and Creative Europe Programme. Currently, he’s been involved primarily in projects on climate adaptation and social issues.
Zsolt graduated as an Economist in 1995 and acquired an MBA in Finance and Management in 2002. He is fluent in English, Romanian and Hungarian.
Zsófia Pátkai-Kiss is one of our external consultants.She has a thorough understanding of project strategy drafting and has contributed to the development of several projects in various funding programmes, including LIFE, Interreg Central Europe, Interreg Europe, EU4Health and Creative Europe.
She had previously gained experience in education consulting and community engagement, and had trained at DG EMPL of the European Commission. Zsófia holds a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and an MA in International Relations from the Central European University. She is fluent in English with a near-native proficiency, and has a basic understanding of French, Arabic, and Farsi.
Eszter Mészáros is a social policy expert by profession, having almost 20 years of experience in the field of European grants. She has been developing Structural Funds proposals for Hungarian municipalities after Hungary’s EU accession in 2004 with the team of HBH Euroconsulting, then she gained significant experience in the elaboration of transnational projects (Interreg Central Europe and South East Europe (later Danube Programme).
Before joining Grants Europe Consulting Eszter had spent ten years with the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta, where, besides project generation she acted as project manager of numerous transnational and national projects, in which the organisation played the role of lead partner.
She speaks fluent Hungarian and English, basic German, and is currently learning Italian. Her main field of expertise is social issues and inclusion, however, she has worked on many different themes throughout the years - from transport through cultural heritage to tourism.
