SEE-Science

Europe is facing an innovation emergency which is particularly true for South East Europe where innovation scores even lower. Proper framework conditions are missing to establish a bridge betweeen research, education and business and the region is characterized by a weak culture for innovation. Although SEE Science partners have a strong potential for innovative business development thanks to the universities and high technology companies that are located there, these potentials arte underexploited impeding the creation of a propoer social climate for new developments.

Objectives
To address this challenge, SEE Science (Boosting innovation through capacity building and networking of science centres in the SEE region) aims to increase public awareness on the importance of natural sciences, technology and innovation as key determinants of sustainable economic growth and knowledge based economies.

The project specifically aims at waking the interest of young people for science, technology and innovation by creating new means to increase visibility and accessibility through science centres. The specific objective will be reached by (1) enhancing the role of Science Centres as promoters and facilitators of innovation through their improved operation and capacity (2) combining the complementary strengths of individual science centres at SEE level (3) by experimenting on new, sustainable instruments that enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between innovation actors (4) by exploiting the potential of novel ICT tools to bring science/technology closer to a wider audience especially young people.
