REPAIR

The main objective of REPAIR is to promote the regeneration of former military sites of historic, cultural and social values, such as forts, prisons, detention areas, but in a sustainable and locally-anchored way involving local stakeholders to the extent possible and drawing on the experience of the project partners. Repair has 8 partners (Medway, New Dutch Waterline, Cartagena, Rostock, Venice, Charente-Maritime, Karlskrona and Thessaloniki) actively involved and they all have ample experience in urban spatial planning and development of city areas.
The REPAIR project is a continuation of ASCEND (Achieving the Socio-Economic Reuse of Former Military Land and Heritage) which aimed at providing a model management framework for the reuse of such military sites in a stepped, inclusive approach.
REPAIR consists of several phases, mainly drafting a policy guidance focusing on four pillars (waste/energy, transport, conservation and cultural heritage). In REPAIR the practical implementation phase involve the selection of two sites and partners as Pilot Regeneration Actions to provide additional support for realising the sustainable regernation of their site. This involve devising an integrative local action plan, investigate the project’s access to ERDF funding. The final phase focus on the leverage of the experience and knowledge of partners, especially in the implementation of the Pilot Regeneration Actions.
Our assignment: participation in the development of project application as subcontractor of EU Liaison.
